Created by GABRIEL ALLARD and CATHERINE BÉRUBÉ, Grand Karma is a dynamic film production company with several independent productions under its belt.

 

Our mission is to produce unique and entertaining work that will leave a mark on the audience’s imagination.

 

Karma [kahr-muh] The sum of a person’s actions that influence their destiny.

We believe every film has its own karma made up from every team member’s passion and commitment to the project. From the set PA to the leading actor we believe every person’s contribution to the film is essential to the success of its journey. GABRIEL ALLARD

General Manager, Director, Producer

In 2012, standing on top of a British-Columbia mountain, reflecting on his heart, Gabriel made a phone call that changed his life. He decided to give movie-making a shot. 18 months later, he won the Audience Choice Award at the "C'est Trop Court" Film Festival with his movie Code 619 and left film school with The Lozeau Award for leadership and commitment to the craft. He went on to direct five more short films including Tableau de Chasse presented at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal and Something Beautiful which won 3rd place worldwide in the 100 Hour Film Race and won many awards including Best Director.

 

Gabriel is primarily known as a director, but his skill set also includes screenwriter, producer, location scout, set dresser and concept creator. With a versatile imagination and sharp instincts, Gabriel is at ease in creating captivating films in any style. He excels at using his leadership to manage complex projects, earn the trust of his team and create striking work within any budget. He is a man who listens and who knows how to use the expertise of his collaborators to the maximum.

Gabriel sees Grand Karma as a castle in constant construction, an ambitious 

endeavour demanding patience, passion and vision. 

CATHERINE BÉRUBÉ

Executive Producer, Public Relations, Actor

Catherine is a bilingual actor known for her work in some of Quebec’s prime tv shows with leading roles in Les Jeunes Loups, Toute la Vérité and 19-2 (Gemeaux award nomination).

 

When Catherine decided to learn English at age 19 she auditioned and was accepted to the English theatre program at Dawson College in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated that program fully bilingual. A year after graduating, she booked her first role in the Award winning mini series Human Trafficking and from there her career took off. Since then she has also played leading and recurring roles in English in Assassin’s Creed Unity, Sophie, 19-2 (English Version) The Disappearance and The Art of More to name a few.

 

Catherine is widely known for her work as an actor but since Grand Karma’s incarnation

she has successfully worked as an executive producer, editor, screenwriter, script consultant, second AD and graphic designer.

 

With her deep understanding of human psychology, her flair for casting and her organizational skills, Catherine is a natural leader and creator. Endowed with her unwavering determination​ to push boundaries, solve problems and follow through with anything she commits to, Catherine feels right at home in this promising company.
